Hey lads. Not sure how things are with club membership and the likes are in Ireland these days, but here in Australia I am scheduled to start pre- season this week. I am a bit conflicted as whether to commit to another season for all the usual reasons ( family time, rest, looking after the body and maybe 1 lie in a year if my birthday falls on the weekend). But for probably the first time I remember, costs of membership has to be taken into consideration. Now the facilities are great. Pithes ate flat , grounds and dressing rooms are clean, floodlights great for night games and training, but things are getting pricey. This is fine for me, I’m approaching my late 30s, I can decide to play or not play , no biggie. The thing I find sad is the under age registration is not much different. This must be a huge burden for families with a few kids ( a dilemma im sure to face in coming years). It would be a shame for any young person to be guided away from the game for financial reasons but what alternatives are there if we want the modern facilities? Wondering if this is a problem in Ireland? Look forward to the response of others. Happy New year

@Gav-At-AnyGames.ie will probably be in a good position to comment on club registrations in Ireland as he is still coaching at Finglas United.
