Lucky Liverpool?

I have heard it suggetsed that Liverpool are lucky to be winning the league this season.

With people suggesting that the drop off from City and Arsenal’s inconsistencies throughout the season, Liverpool have just been given a free run at the league.

I don’t really buy into that to be honest. They have been the most consistent team in the league this season and have only lost 2 games all season.

What I will say is that maybe if there is any luck involved its been in recent weeks with their form being slightly inconsistent. But at this point they have already done enough to comfortably win it.

So lucky no, a bit fortunate that when their form dipped so did the form of their nearest competition in Arsenal who are already some way off the pace for the title.

What do you all think?

Consistency has been key for Liverpool. Got off to a great start under Slot which nobody expected. Yes you could say they haven’t been as impressive in recent weeks but they’ve had the luxury of being able to take the foot off the gas. You would imagine that if it was closer at the top and they were under pressure from Arsenal and City at their best they’d have maintained that level to get over the line.

I’d say you’re right that there is an element of them easing off with less pressure.

I’d wonder if the contract talk over the last while have been a bit of a distraction as well?

Liverpool fans will probably agree that the cup exits would have been a huge disappointment given there league position. Does that suggest the dip in form was more than just an easing off based on league position?

I think its more so much went into the start. Even when we won the league last there was a drop off.

Defo helped that City collasped and Arsenal just decided to become so controlled they were only scoring set-pieces.

I think the City or Klopp sides of the last few seasons would win this league well enough

Yeah, I’m not sure anyone saw Liverpool winning the title in Slots first year.

Although I do think people may have underestimated Liverpool a bit too, they are still a quality team.

City having collapse this season couldn’t have been accounted for.

Arsenal have been inconsistent but, Arsenal fans might point to and Injury riddle seeason for their inconsistencies but some of that has to come down to bad planning too (stiker woes).

But all of that aside Liverpool would still be there or thereabouts this season even if the other two had been on form.

Agree liverpool have been poor last few weeks , but there has been seasons were liverpool were ourstanding and didnt manage to win the league. Games were liverpool were poor, but got the 3 points in the end is games fans will talk about as those games made liverpool win the league.

Definitely and they have been the best team in the league this season by far. Its quite obvious lookjng at the table.

Next season could be interesting if everyone is on it and challenging.
